Yesterday, in one of my precious 30minute breaks - I took 10minutes in the loo, came out and had a last minute level-check student thrust upon me (apparently I was told about it in the morning and it was written on the board but whatever...), managed to check her up in about half the usual time to give myself 5minutes to plan my 90minute lesson that would be starting in... 5minutes. =)
Oh and I'd started work at 9:30am and would be finishing at 9:30pm pretty much every day this week.
Good thing that I'm actually enjoying my job. (^_^)

A First Glance...
Japan is cleaner, my classes are smaller, shorter, the kids are lower level but the adults are higher, the girls are cute and its societically colder...
Taiwan (so far) is grimier, the classes twice as long, three times the size, yet the kids are better behaved, more skilled but the adults are actually lower level for their ages, the girls are beautiful and the people are more open and sincerely welcoming.
I've met more people more easily in my first two weeks here than i did in my first two months in Japan...
Just an initial impression. =)

A Realisation.
Gotta go back to work for the first time in 4 months from Monday...
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In other news: It's been a long-ass time since I last went to a club event and stayed from beginning to end and didn't even notice the time go by.
Taichung?
Quickest 5 hours of my life.
Excellent. (^^)b

Another Weird Thing.
...when I first moved to Japan I didn't feel homesick for England at all - not even a little bit.
But my first few days in Taiwan it was kinda odd to find that I did feel a few teensy tiny pangs of homesickness... for Japan... (O_o)
Weird.
EDIT: Just a small clarification to clarify that I meant I was feeling homesick for Japan... not England. Still don't miss England all that much yet... Some of you's need to brush up on your Brian-speak... =P

Sumimasen, no hablar guó-yǔ... Joogooleh?!
It's weird - tho kinda expected - that I keep initially reacting to reply to people here in Japanese... then I realise my mishtake and switch to Cantonese... which is often no help... next comes Hakka which brings even more confusion.
I'm gonna try and use English as a last resort this time, as opposed to Japan where I just threw words around willy nilly and didn't care as long as the understanding got translated.
Another only natural - but still unusual feeling is the fact that I feel more like a foreigner here in this Chinese society than I did when I was a BBC in a Japanese society. Heh.

Jetlag Sucks BooBoos!
Ahhhhhh... first proper day in Taipei and I got to meet soooooooo many cool people - only I couldn't really meet them "properly" properly coz I've been awake since 2am. Stupid jetlag sapping out my buzz... I couldn't be the full Brian-ness of my Brianique Briansome...ness. Hmm... Erm... thats a bad thing right? (O_o)
Time to get my hours straight. G'nite!
PS. Taiwan looks like it could be pretty interesting...
PPS. "TAS Big2 rules" are WEIRD. (¬_¬)
