#305: DIY Extreeeeeeeeme.

When attempting a solo build that's actually designed for two people in a room that barely larger than the build itself.

Twice.

Masking tape is your best friend in the whole wide world.

Too bad I only realised that halfway through the second build. (¬_¬)

#292: Flip Flops.

For some reason, unpacking my life outta four-and-a-half boxes is proving a whole lot more traumatising than packing it up into four-and-a-half boxes.

#271: Like A Strange Alien Landscape.

Everytime the girlfriend puts one of those blackhead nose strip thingies on my face, I'm both fascinated and horrified by the literal crap that it pulls out.

Not by the crap itself. That's to be expected. My face gets itself into some pretty hazardous environments.

But more at the freakin' length of some of these towers and columns. Just how far down do pores go? It's like my face is a big colander.

#142: Be Like Water.

In one day, the plan for tomorrow changed from paintballing, to surfing, to karting before finally settling in it's current incarnation - a bike trip towards the surfing.

At each change, we'd get within the last step of saying "This Is What We're Gonna Do Dammit!", and then something would scupper it.

Freeflow Freeflow. See what I mean about the best laid plans?!

#112: If I Could Have Any Superpower...

It'd have to be superspeed. Coz while flight is damn cool, it might be considered cheating a bit when you're attempting to parkour across the Pacific Ocean.

Plus I quite like the idea of getting all my chores done in the first 5 seconds of the day and then spending an extra 3 hours in bed.

Man, what does it say about my personality when I'm practical even in my own fantasies...

#105: Maybe Put A Firemen's Pole In There Too...

When I grow up, I'm definitely gonna have a workshop in the garage, and a games room in the house.

Actually I'd quite happily have the games room, workshop and just everything in the garage.

*Ammendment* When I grow up, I'm gonna be living in my five star luxury garage.

#9: Thrillseeker

When I was a wee lil'un I was the most timid kid in the world, everything frightened me. I'd cry at the slightest poke, overcompensate to embarrassment and I'd never, ever, wanna try anything new.

I can mark the exact point that kicked off the process where I would eventually go from runner, to chaser.

Thorpe Park, 1997.
My 12yr old Cousin Albert wanted to go on the Loggers Leap ride, my 16yr old self didn't. It was a bloody scary ride! You'd fall from great height! You'd get that scary 'whoosh' feeling in your tummy! You'd get wet!

Aunty Jackie then said to me, "If Albert can do it, why can't you?!"

And that was the mental snap. I never did have a good reason, I was just being scared coz people told me it was scary. So since then, this question spread to the rest of my mentality. Up to the point where I now wish I knew how to make other frightened people understand; how simple it actually was, to switch the perspective.

Oh wait, I just realised... I think I'm still overcompensating. Heh. =/

The trick is - to Overcompensate Positive. Waste nothing!

The Fatman Fitness Fad Dilemma.

When I first went to Japan 2yrs ago my trousers were sized between 34 and 36inches and they were a decent fit. The Japanese staple of ramen and riceballs meant that over the next 2yrs, my waistband went veerrrrrry gradually to a slightly less husky 32/34inches.

Didn't really notice it, just meant I had to pull my belts a lil tighter, but I could still wear the same jeans and trousers I always wore.

Then I went back to England for a month... hehe! The homecooked meals, the epic family dinners, the constant berating of "Waahhh! You've gone too skinny! Eat more! Eat more la!!!" from my brilliant family. A month is all it took to get me back to my healthy glowy 35inches for Taiwan. (^^)

What I didn't expect was how much more active my life here would be..: at least one clubnight every weekend (a bit more than I'm used to, but not too surprising), an hour at the gym every weeknight after work (still OMGWTFBBQROFFLEROFFLEO_o surprising. Seriously. Its weird). Suddenly my trousers are beginning to look like something out of a Weight Watchers advert. Eek.

And therein lies the dilemma: Knowing how much my belly likes its food, and not knowing whether this fitness malarky is just a phase or something I'll be able to keep doing for a while yet - Do I now buy 30/32inch trousers at the risk of popping the buttons in a few months, or do I stick with me 34inchers and carry on folding the waistband over like I'm still wearing hand-me-downs from my mum?

Talk about a question that I never would've expected I'd have to ask myself... Heh. (O_o)
