#199: Comedius Fugit.

Turns out all you need to survive a 13hr flight trapped between an old-biddy tourist group and a cranky journalist, is 13yrs worth of standup comedy in mp3 format.

I spent practically the whole journey with my headphones in, eyes closed and grinning like a maniac. It was a very pleasant flight.

Think that made the journalist even crankier. Oops.

#185: Old School Rocks.

Favourite part of tonight:
Watching the Western popstar getting the Eastern crowd to join in on a selection of his earlier works... and then bemusement when he realised that said crowd wasn't actually as familiar with his earlier work - most of the kids didn't know the words. (><)

Still, he came back strong and almost took the place apart when he busted out the new school favourites though! (^^)

#60: Pat

At one point during the fireworks festival, after a particularly heavy bombardment, I spotted my friend with a curiously glowing hole 3cm wide in the towel taped to the back of his helmet. As I was patting out the flames on his head, I felt my own head knocking forward and turned around to discover some bloke indicating that my helmet too was on fire.

So there we were, three guys in the middle of a thronging horde still reeling from a battering by ten billion mini-rockets, furiously patting each others helmets out...

This story is gonna need some revision on retelling.

In other news, met a kindergarden teacher the other day with easily the best.kiddies.book.ever...

Three things:
- 1. Those are dung beetles.
- 2. There's a page that features a sloth with constipation.
- 3. There's a page that features a lion with the runs.

Everything is illustrated. In full colour. With different shades and everything.

Taiwan kids get a much fuller education than a person might expect... (^_^)

We're Living In Different Times Now

I was eliciting the word "tourist" from a student today... there was a picture of one in the book so normally this is not so hard. Usually I get words like "camera", "holiday", etc. first but "tourist" is common enough to be quickly thought up.

This particular student however, the first two words he thought up when he saw the picture?

"Stalker", and then "Paparazzi".
