Habituative Fluidiness

I've noticed on and off that I seem to have a tendancy to be able to adjust and adapt my personality to whatever social situation I'm in, more than most... since moving outta England this has become more prominent and developed into something of a survival trait. So much so that my Brit accent apparently wavers between out and out South London (init) to somewhere vaguely Euro/South African (wtf?!?!).

This handy hyper-adaptability super-power of mine does has some negative side-effects though - such as one particular time when working in Croydon, I actually came out with the line:

"Yo that film was da boom-lickity!"

yeesh. (>_<)

Whoops I What I Actually Mean Is: *manly grunt* "Waddup (...biches)?"

Goddammit I don't care that I'm supposed to be a grown 19yr(+8) old man and all that whatnot... but the last act of this weeks Kyle XY freakin' moved me man...

...there were tears. It was weird. (¬_¬)

Damn You Internets!!! Damn Yoooooouuu!!!

Dollhouse and a random thought got me googling up the radio phonetic alphabet for a bit... which then led me to the TVtropes site...

...3hrs 7hrs later and I'm still here chuckling through the articles and wondering how the hell I'd never discovered this place before...

It's like wikipedia and TWoP all over again! (¬_¬)

It's Where The Heart Is...

If I ever grow up and become mature enough to start making Grown Up Money, there are only two essential things my own house/apartment must adhere to:

- A brushed aluminium/wood finished kitchen with induction hobs and enough work-prep-space to put a decent 3 course meal together without overlapping. Floor-to-ceiling windows on at least two sides. And an industrial strength blender, or two.

- One toilet/bathroom for every member of the residence.

Thats all. =)

"Brian is too quiet in class..."

In primary school, this was probably the most commonly used phrased by my teachers on our school reports. I was never the standout student - despite my mothers best efforts - I was quite comfortably in the middle of the pack, B-grade average and happily anonymous for fear of attention. Actually I was pretty much scared of everything. =/

It only took me about 10yrs to get over my fear of the world... and a further 5-ish-yrs to start to learn to take it head on, I definitely haven't finished yet.

I can't say I'm not enjoying the ride so far, I've done a bit of travelling, touched four continents this year, climbed the highest mountains in a bunch of places, met all sorts of people from high society to the poorest communities, been on freakin' TV, kept in touch and met up with friends all over the world (Ken!) and driven a whole buncha different types of cars (everybody grabs achievements in their own special ways =P ).

I can quite readily say that I've lived without regret for the past coupla years simply because of one little phrase:

"Sure, why not?"

Happy New Year Everyone! =)

About Oz

At the end of my African trip, I was satisified that I had touched the continent, and that I could check it off my list of "Things That I Have Done In My Life".

At the end of my Australian trip however, even though I've spent just as much time there as I did in Africa, I don't think I'm quite done with it yet.

I'll definitely be back. ;)
