Initial D Impulses...

You read an article about some cool new Japanese attraction one day, and the next day you're actually there... its nice to be able to actually do that. (^_^)

Plus it was quite funny watching the white boy get given a free pack of jumbo prawn crackers for apparently no other reason than sitting by the crane machine and looking forlorn while waiting for us to satisfy our driving gaga's.

'Twas a good day had by all then! (^_^)v

September.

In 31days I quit my job.

In 34days I fly to England...

In 37days I fly to Germany...

In 43days I fly back to Japan...

In 45days I fly to Australia...

In 57days I return to Japan...

By then I'll have no money, no job, likely no home and hell I'm not even sure I'll be able to get back into the country coz I haven't paid some kinda tax thing a few months back...

Actually I'm not sure if I'll even be alive...

But it'll be ok, coz in September:

- I'll see my (almostly) entire family for the first time in 20months (poetically speaking)

- I'll see one of my closest mates get married in a country I've never been in, sitting with an amazing family I'd met only just earlier this month.

- I'll visit another country I've never been to with one of my closest cousins, watching him do something that had originally started off just as a lil hobby with his older brother's latest fad in the living room. And 6years later... that lil hobby has taken him to the other side of the world.

Funny how it works init. =)

We're Living In Different Times Now

I was eliciting the word "tourist" from a student today... there was a picture of one in the book so normally this is not so hard. Usually I get words like "camera", "holiday", etc. first but "tourist" is common enough to be quickly thought up.

This particular student however, the first two words he thought up when he saw the picture?

"Stalker", and then "Paparazzi".

"Hey! I Remember You!"

Whoa... I joined Facebook around Febuary... and in the five months between then and now I've been added by old classmates from my primary school (5-11), my first secondary school (11-13), my college (16-18), my university (18-23) and as of today, my second secondary school (13-16)... (O_o)

All I need now is to be poked by someone from Jenny Hunt's Nursery School in New Malden (3-5) and that'll be my entire educational career covered... (o_O)

Err... eek? (O_O)

Huh... *Blush*

Aww poo... turns out the typhoon came and went yesterday without much incident... While I was sleeping.

And now its all fine and sunny. The Mornings After always tends to have a way of making things seem not as bad as they originally looked dont they?

And there was me being all melodramatic and premenstrual and stuff. Boo. (>_<)

I Control The Weather

<emo-esque bullshit>

Its not an uncommon idea that the weather affects our moods. I mean a sunny day will lift spirits and a gloomy day can often mean a glum face. Apart from those freaks who are cheery all the bloody time. I hate those people.

But sometimes in times of heightened emotion its like we really can affect the weather to reflect our state. When I set up an outing a coupla months ago it rained every day that week up until the actual event itself... where the then clouds parted and the sun shone right through. That was a pretty good day. When I met up with Chris & Yoona in Korea, the wet season was supposed to have started the day I arrived. What actually happened was that it was brilliantly sunny every day I was there up until the morning I left. I then saw the first raindrops after I had said goodbye to my friends and got on the bus to the airport.

However behind all these fronts, there has been a massive low pressure building up quietly quietly softly softly... Its been reported that a typhoon is currently heading in the Tokyo direction.

And if anything's gonna make it hit, its gonna be me.

"What The Hell Are You Waiting Forrrrrrrr?"

Coz I'll always love the original line, I'll apply every freakin' place I can...

In Japan I have failed just as much as I have succeeded. But I love my life. I love my friends. And I wish upon anyone, my kind of success. (^_^)

Do You Believe In Fairy Tales?

When German Chris told me that he was gonna be in Korea in the week I was to have a holiday from work. There was no way I was gonna pass up a chance to see my best mate from Starbucks again after 18months... hell I even pushed back a hot date this week in order to be able to pop over the Eastern Sea in time - I missed the fool THAT much! (>_<)

He's going over to plan his wedding. Chris and Yoona have been together for as long as I've known them. And as long as I've known them, they've always been practically married anyways. And coz of that, I've always teased them about how when they do, they're doomed etc. etc. Now normally when I tease a person about something, they get defensive - that kinda reaction is usually due to some truth in what I'm teasing about and therefore taps into the insecurity circuits. I do it coz I'm mean and cruel like that. (O.-)

But when I poke fun at Chris's commitment to Yoona he doesn't get awkward or defensive at all. He takes it and tells me about the life they're gonna have together and his plans and hopes for the future.

It's his conviction and his honesty in all his statements that tell me how I know the man is not afraid at all. At 24 years old, he know's exactly what he has, and how lucky he is to have it. None of this dreamy "I *heart* her 4ever" stuff - 'tis The Real Thing, warts and all.

And that, to me, is amazing. Chris told me once that he knew he and Yoona were Meant To Be coz of all the random things in the world that had to have happened to get them together. His family had moved from Germany to England for his father's job. They have since moved back to Germany but Chris stayed behind. Yoona had moved from Korea to England to study. They both happened to work part time at Burger King... of all places... and the rest is history.

Its amazing to me coz while I can definitely see the scope of a love story in the making that spans 3 countries across 2 continents... my logical-assed brain can't help but point out that actually, this kinda thing is not all that uncommon. Million-to-one chances happen everyday, and coz of this, I no longer get amazed by it. One of the drawbacks of having a goddamn-logical-assed brain is that it refuses to accept the magic. Grrr...

I'm one of those sods that needs to know and experience all the options. Chris isn't, and while admittedly he started his life a bit earlier than me, he still has this purity in his decisions that I still can't achieve. In the 5yrs I've known him there's never been any doubt in him about the path he and Yoona are walking together. That's faith.

And that makes him one of the bravest luckiest sonafabitches I know.

Love ya buddy! Cya in Germany, September!
