Reassimilation

I was only in China for 14 days, and yet there's a few quirks I picked up there that I'm still finding hard to shake off..:

- The idea that traffic rules are just a set of guidelines really... I'm still constantly looking out for stray bikes, stray taxi's and stray chickens whenever crossing the streets here.

- That toilets are essentially BYO Loo Roll... although its probably a good thing that I'm always checking that there is enough paper before locking the door now. A life lesson learnt in China is that loo roll is not something to be taken for granted dammit!

Although having said that... I have never appreciated my magical butt-spraying-jetstream-washing-cheek-massaging toilet in my apartment more than that first night back in Japan... Ahhhhhhhh....

Bliss. (^_^)

"OK Ahhhh..."

In the past 3 weeks I've jumped on 10 planes:

Japan -> England
England -> Germany
Germany -> England
England -> Germany again
Germany -> England again
England -> Japan
Japan -> Shanghai
Shanghai -> Some other part of China
Some other part of China -> Shanghai
Shanghai -> Japan

China was something amazing, fulla surprises and definitely unforgettable... even when I was ill and shooting outta my arse for most of the trip. And the fact that what we did is gonna be seen by half a million people is just a lil bit cool too! Woohoo!

And now if you'll excuse me, I have an apartment to get rid of and a roadtrip to set up.

I miss my Questy buddies. =(

Playing Catchup.

So since coming back I've...

- Caught up with the family like no time had ever passed.
- Caught up with a bunch of old friends, both planned and unexpected.
- Flew to Germany on BA Business Class (thanks to the everlastingly-lovely LumLum (^_^)
- Flew back the next morning on RyanAir (thanks to delayed nuptials and funny BA ticketing rules)
- Watched yet another cousin get married
- Went to 1.5 ByeBye Parties in one night (CARMEN!!!!!)
- Started planning the Annual Chan-Lau-Li-Wong Xmas LAN Party for December...

I have pics, wanna see some pics?

Saying hello to some old friends.

The D&D Wedding. You know... the next cousin in line after Debs is... err... (>_<)

Larking about with the wedding hotel flood lights turned out something surprisingly cool.

In reality, I came all the way back to the UK just to go to Carmen's ByeBye party... no seriously, I did... (-.0)

If You're Gonna Do Anything...

...Do It Properly... (And With Style ;)

Monday morning with 4hrs sleep I leave my Japan apartment...

Arrive at the airport just a tad late and make it to the boarding gate with 10mins to spare...

Plans to sleep on the plane are scuppered when I'm sat between to the sweetest old lady from Okinawa, who insisted on telling me all about her group tour... in Japanese. And for some goddang coindedinky reason - a Shane student from Tennodai (dammit... can't seem to get away from them... (@_@) )

I jump off the 11hr flight with no sleep and a busting bladder (Plane toilets scare me - those things could suck you into the centre of the universe if you have an arse large enough to form a perfect seal and you're not too careful (¬_¬) )

The first thing I do after stepping back on UK soil for the first time in 20months? I ask for the keys to mum's car... (^______^)

Ohhh it feels sooooooooo gooooooooooooooooood to drive a manual shifter again.

...

Anyways... enough of that, 2 Things:

- RIP to The Wong Wagon. (_ _)
- Albert has Stranglehold... and its TEQUILA TIME BABYYYY!!!
