Guaranteed to chop your head in 10minutes. No waiting.

I just got a flyer in my postbox about a new 1000yen (a fiver) barbershop that is opening near my apartment - its gonna use the ticketing system thats already pretty popular with noodle restaurants here in Japan - you buy a ticket with your order out of a vending machine at the door of the place, and then just hand it over when you go in and they'll serve up whatever's on the ticket, pretty efficient for business and especially nifty if you don't wanna talk to anybody and/or can't speak the native tongue.

Applying this to a barbershop is a brilliant idea, and 1000yen is almost as cheap as when I used to get my haircut when I was 15yrs old! (^_^)

Just one thing...

I'm not sure what kinda message they're trying to send... when the free gift they're attaching with the flyer are a pair of Band-Aid Ribbon-Aid plasters... (O_o)

Adrenaline Junkie: Aftermath

So I'm aching all over... I've got bruises in vital places that's maybe not so convenient... ie: My left buttcheek. Out group came back shattered, battered and baring battle scars with one member nursing a broken wrist.

But after this one experience of complete noobie snowboarding, I can pretty much say for definite that it really goes straight into second place of my most favouritist sports ever... just behind go karting. And Only Just. And people know how much I love my karting...

Heh... All the best sports for me are the ones that leave you breathless and aching afterwards... which you don't realise that you're breathless and aching till afterwards.

I'm not good with football, running, swimming and all your regular sports coz when I start getting tired (and I do get tired reeeaaaally quickly) I become very aware of my shocking level of unfitty abilityness and it quickly stops being fun.

But with activities like boarding, karting, dancing (inc. Horizontal Mambo), badminton, climbing... you're having so much fun playing about that you don't realise that you're also making your body do actual physical exertion... which is something I am usually adamantly against. You're tricking your body into working out without your brain realising it...

Its a stealth workout!

Anyways, pictures be here.

The Last Laugh.

Now this is the kinda crude-yet-genius quality humour that makes me chuckle. (^_^)

Going snowboarding for the first time ever tmw... I think I might actually die.

It happens every year around this time... (¬_¬)

The trouble with being utterly cool, and having the CTU ringtone from 24 as my text alert on my mobile for the past 3yrs is that now... everytime I watch the damn show I find myself reflexively picking the phone up every 5 minutes...

Kinda like a lab rat experiment. (O_o)

Verisimilitude

Oh bloody hell do I get bored really, really quickly nowadays... (>_<)

Most. Genius. Rubber. Ever.

This thing is so simple its freakin' brilliant... a rubber... modelled as a Delete key!! Hee!! (^_^)

BTW thats "rubber" as in "eraser" to you yanks... not the other kinda "rubber"...

...like I'd be talking about a Deleting Rubber ... that would be wrong... and traumatising. (¬_¬)

I'm kinda observant like that.

I only just noticed... all the cars I've seen in Japan are always well-kept, shiny and new-looking... there's actually not that many cars over 5yrs old here and those that are, are immaculate. There no rusty bangers here!

How have I only just noticed?!

..and now that I have - its kinda freaking me out a lil. (o_O)

Goodies!

Remember how I got one of the prettiest homemade cakes ever from one of my students last year?

I got another one this year. (^_^)

Oh yea... and also, one of my students gave me a brand new folding bike a coupla weeks ago as well... just coz he had it spare and it was cluttering up his house...
(^___^)

A coupla weeks before that another student let me drive his brand new 2 week old Honda CR-V... coz he knew how much I'd missed driving.
(^________________^)

We're setting the right example really...

So for Christmas, Ste got a PSP that he started bringing into work with him (along with the nattiest set of headphones mate ;)...

Naturally seeing this - I had to bring my one in too, and we started some hot and sweaty multiplayer action.

It wasnt long before we were surrounded by 5-9yr old kids trying to catch a peek at their cool-as-fuck teachers and their swanky big-kid toys...

The game we were playing?

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories... Hehe! There's nothing quite like impressing a 7yr old kid by first mowing down his sensei with a machine gun, and then driving over the him with a car... before then kicking them all out to go teach your next class...

Its the beauty in its symmetry...

Where my passion for all things ironic-alicious comes back to bite me in the ass...

The fact that the girls that like me, I don't like back... and the girls I like, don't like me back.

I love it. I hate it. (^_-)

---

...for Valentines Day today one of my students gave me a gigantic bag of chocolate and cream filled donuts... she's 5 years old.

So young yet so smart already - This girl is gonna make some guy in the future extreeeeemely happy... (^_^)

It speaks my soul!

Its so fitting that in the two days before, the weather was brilliant and blue and bright and cheery... and then come Valentines its all cold and wet and gloomy... GLOOM YA HEAR?!?!!! GLOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!

MWAKAKAAKAKKAKAAKAAA!!!

*laughs like the maniacal cold bitter twisted lonely soul that resides within these fleshy walls*

Snow news day... Geddit?! Geddit?!

My England and New York brethren I hear you are having snowy issues the likes you guys haven't seen for a long long time eh... What you need is one of these automagical bad boys...

Considering we're not actually seeing any snow in Tokyo compared to the blizzards of last year I suppose you guys have a greater need for this than us. =)

...if I was the impulsive type... (=_=)

Hello Again, My Old Friend.

So I stopped blogging for a bit a coupla months back for a coupla reasons... nothing really all that major though - had an overdue project that I really needed to get stuck in on, the mahooossive high of last summer led to a pretty big low period and my posts were getting dangerously emo-licious... ¬_¬

Couldn't have that happening... So I stopped.

... ... ...

ANYWAYS, we're a month into 2007 now... and I'm still here. Go figure. =.=

I'll catch you guys up on me New Years adventures some other time, gonna write about something Carmen helped made me notice about my time here over the past year.

Carmen is an old friend from my pre-DL days, hadn't seen her in something like 4yrs and back then though we didn't actually chat that many times, I do remember that when we did chat... we actually did have some decently pretty intelligent conversations. O_o

Cool thing is that that hasn't changed in our absence ^_^

Anyways she was telling me how she was really enjoying her life back in London, she's carving her own groove and she's making a good living - and while she does enjoy travelling around. She's always thankful to return home and touch base. She asked me if I ever felt that; having been out here for so long now. I mean I left a pretty good life back home, I was living comfortably, didn't need to worry about rent or too many bills, I had a good high-paying job with career prospects and a ridiculous amount of freedom, I had my car, I always had my friends around me and everything was just... right. :)

It was terrifying - it was like my life was over at 23yrs old. =.=

Since the very first week I moved out here, people have been asking me whether I missed home at all... and I could always answer them with 100% truthiness that I really, really, didn't - The only things that I did miss were my car, my family and my friends (in that order =D ). I always told them that all I needed to do to be happy was to bring the people over here to where I am. Which is kinda what happened in 2006 - speaking to Carmen I realised that she was capping off a really really lucky year: Hehe... Lessee...

Emma Seayin was the first to come in March... *smooches*
then my Mum came in April for her birthday...
Thavy Funksta popped over for a bit in July... *met the most girls*
Lewis came in August... *craziest party weekend*
Cousin Gas wrapped up his world tour with a quick week here a coupla weeks after Lewis...
then the notorious Hamsupjai himself Ken Gor came in early December and terrorised Tokyo... *winky*
and finally Carmen came over late December to celebrate New Years with me.

Missing home? Lonely? What reason do I have to feel lonely?

Hehe! *smug*

...aaannnd Reboot.

Hello World...

...I'm online again! ^_^

...and I've moved! No real reason... just felt like something different from me old xanga. Heh... from asianavenue back in college, to xanga around uni... to umm... what is this? blogspot? blogger???

Still jiggling some stuff around... brb...
